Joseph C. Cane, Jr. is the Principal of CCSE, A Professional Law Corporation. His practice centers on corporate and commercial transactions — including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt financings, joint ventures and strategic alliances, and the full range of corporate advisory and governance matters that sophisticated business clients require.

Over more than 30 years as a transactional attorney, Joseph has represented companies, investors, founders, executives, athletes, and institutions across a broad range of industries and deal types. He regularly advises on securities transactions, corporate formation and governance, executive compensation, board and investor relations, and intellectual property licensing, and he serves as outside general counsel for a number of the firm’s clients.

Before founding CCSE, Joseph served as Vice President and General Counsel of Digital Entertainment Corporation of America (DECA), where he oversaw the company’s legal affairs and advised on M&A, financings, and strategic matters. Prior to that, he worked in corporate development and business and legal affairs at Sony Connect, a digital music subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, handling joint ventures, licensing, and entertainment and technology transactions. He began his legal career at national law firms Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi LLP; Preston Gates & Ellis LLP; and Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman, LLP, where he practiced across corporate, securities, M&A, entertainment, and technology matters.
